Park Slope Brownstone
The studio’s latest project is a classic Brooklyn brownstone reimagined with softness and restraint. Originally built in 1888 by architect William Flanagan, the three-story home sits just one block from Prospect Park, its curved bay windows and high garden level emblematic of Park Slope’s historic charm.Enso refined the interior experience through thoughtful material gestures and custom-designed furniture—composing 2,800 sq ft of lived-in elegance, layered with intention.
The studio’s custom pieces, including a headboard, credenza, and TV cabinet, were created to echo the architecture and support the gentle rhythms of daily life. These are complemented by pieces from the most recent Item: Enso collection, Soft Grounds, including the Apricot Coffee Table, Carambola Table Lamp, and Plantain Plinth. Additional pieces seen throughout the home are sourced from a mix of high and low vendors with a special focus on vintage, going back to Enso’s foundational philosophy of recycling materials and objects. In the living room, Enso built a custom credenza in solid white oak with woven rattan panels and discreet top slats, providing necessary airflow for the AC while also housing AV equipment and everyday items. The piece is fully accessible for any mechanical maintenance.

In the dining room, Enso didn’t want to repeat the same language, so they looked to Jean Prouvé for inspiration. They designed a sideboard with sliding doors punctuated by rhythmic circular cutouts, offering visual interest and ventilation. Painted in a deep green, it contrasts beautifully against the natural oak tones in the adjacent spaces. This piece also serves a practical purpose, doubling as a buffet when the client hosts guests.

To maximize the width of the primary bedroom, the studio designed a wall-to-wall upholstered headboard composed of three panels. The headboard is covered in a soft, striped fabric—subtle enough to feel neutral per the client's wishes, yet textural enough to add quiet depth. Customization enabled the discreet concealing of all bedside cords, since the client preferred not to pursue additional electrical work. The result is a clean, intentional installation that feels both functional and tailored.
